Where Are We Headed...
Despite the ever growing 64 billion dollar weight loss industry statistics clearly state obesity is steadily on the rise and is a national concern. Is there an answer?
The weight loss industry is evolving so quickly its about to swivel right off its' axis and topple. Yet, it never will.
The consumers yearning to find that magic bullet and lose weight will keep the industry atop its' axis despite it's consistent failure rate.
No matter the number of weight loss books on the market, weight loss gadgets on late night air and weight loss gurus that pop up over night three things have managed to stay consistent:
If weight loss, improving your health and success are important:
It's time to get off the evolutionary "weight loss" merry go round and revolutionize your weight loss approach
The way I see it, as a 52 year old woman with over 40 years involvement in health and fitness the industry is out of control.
The problem is we keep asking others how we should lose weight versus asking ourselves. We're spending our time living like others who lost weight versus learning how to work with who we are, our likes/dislikes and lifestyle. We place too much trust in others to determine what we should do to lose weight versus learning the proper steps to lose weight according to who we are. We think weight loss is hard, agonizing yet it's not and is actually fun, rewarding and life changing.
The History Of Weight Loss
The first diet is known as the first FAILED diet. Recorded in the early 1000's the first diet known was followed by William the Conqueror.
Many other diets proceeded. The most foretold was written in 1864 by a Mr. William Banting who successfully lost weight and decided to publish a letter on his findings.
The most popular diet, "Diet and Health" was written in 1918 by a women, Lulu Hunt Peters. She went on to sell several millions copies at the price of $10 per copy. Mrs. Lulu is in fact the individual who started the calorie counting revolution. What's crazy is the same 1200 calorie diet is still followed to this day.
It must be known that calories are superifically based on misconstrued study's.
How can so many concepts and ideas continually win over the hearts of so many who receive little to zero success? Could it be we are in a trance? Seriously, what gives?
Let me try to open your eyes by asking you the following questions.
With the history of this industry and rising obesity epidemic the message is clearly written on the wall for all to see yet most people don't see it. We are at crossroads. It's time to choose. Do you continue to follow the elusive trail or march onto a new path?
Where are we headed; our minds, our bodies and our societal culture? I ask this because even though the weight loss industry is a trailing industry with multi-growth well into an annual 100 billion in sales on the opposite end of the spectrum the obesity numbers are skyrocketing too.
Has weight loss become a societal experiment?
The theory of evolution has some wonderful predictive powers and because attempting to verify or falsify hypotheses is a core part of any science, setting up ideas for testing is fundamental to research and success of the whole. Some of these hypotheses are rather harder to work on than others, especially in this case of direct observations of an unusual event, being required to provide confirmation.
In the case of Robyne Arrow, it has taken a whole series of studies over a huge period of time to provide conclusive evidence of one of the great weight loss and unpredictable evolutionary predictions in the industry.
Please allow me to share with you in one blog post what I have gained from closely watching the industry during these forty plus years.
Where Are We Now
As a leader who has more power and influence?
The heart doctor who lives to be 110 or the Heart doctor who dies from a heart attack before they reach 60 years of age?
What about the Weight Loss Coach who never had to lose weight or the Weight Loss Coach who lost 30#'s several times?
Who do you want to lead you to that which you desire?
Similar to giving one a fish to eat for a day and teaching that one how to fish so they may eat for a lifetime.
Similar to falling domino's dependent on the force of the one before? For the numbers of obesity only compete with rising numbers from one year to the next.
I have pondered on this very question many a times. How is it that one can be influenced to purchase an exercise gadget only to open up the box, set it up and never put one step on to it? Where does our mind-set travel when chasing the elusive dream? It seems to me that the power of media is over the top influential not just on purchase power but the dream and keeping it asleep.
The question I ask you is what steps need to be taken to awaken the dream?
Weight loss tends to follow disease and illness. Lets take a look at these statistics:
If you wish to learn more about this concept check out the 20 year rule. The 20 year rule was more prevalent back in the 70's and 80's. Since the 20 year rule has dwindled down to a 5 year rule where one's particular lifestyle affects the quality of one's body at work.
I believe weight gain is not so much about calorie consumption as much as the body breaking down
Is There An Answer
Self Mastery is a key part of life and the fruit of it – you must be in the forefront from one challenge to another in order to experience life at its fullest and consistently be motivated regardless the challenges you face and being unable to be in the forefront makes success rather tricky.
Some individuals rely on the media, the words of another, before/after photos to simply produce masses of motivation with hopes they will succeed, eventually.
I'm Robyne Arrow, and I used my focus on food and exercise to get connected with self, get stronger so I could achieve my dreams and the potential hurdles along the way.
